Yesterday I headed down to the Madison Fishing Expo. This is the first time I attended this event since I was a child and I was excited to check it out. Wisconsin has a lot of fishing to offer, and this event had something for all types of fishermen. The hall is split into two sections - half full of boats and half full of vendors.
We walked through the boat section and there was a wide variety to check out. There's a lot of different types of fishing! I was surprised to see that there were only a few bass boats and no Skeeter FX20 or I20 bass boats, or any boat in the FX or I series. I really wanted to look at the 2014 models up close and personal, but I guess I'll have to check them out somewhere else.
Next we checked out the vendors. There were a lot of guide services, lodges, and Chamber of Commerce booths; so if you're looking to plan a fishing trip and need ideas, this would be a great event to check out. I ran into some friends, like Muskie Mark from Muskies Matter and made some new friends at Woodcraft Baits and Engulf Baits.
The show was also full of good gift ideas for people who love fishing. There was also a good selection of vendors selling jerky, nut mixes, and snacks that are great for the boat. It's a great place for kids and there were a lot of events to get young people involved in the outdoors.
One last picture below - I had to get a picture for my two year old niece with this Uncle Josh sign! Not to mention that I love to use Uncle Josh porks and Kalin's soft plastics. They're a great Wisconsin bait company.
