Let me give you some advice - the best thing to do for holidays is to take a fishing trip. So over this past Easter, I went to Lake Guntersville in Alabama with my dad. We had a great time fishing and enjoying the warmer weather. We caught bass on roadbeds and rocklines on crankbaits and jigs, and then went into feeder creeks and docks and were catching them on soft plastics.
The biggest bass caught was caught by my dad on a crankbait, and was right around 6 lbs.
There were a couple of agonizing bass that we lost right at the boat, and those will definitely make for a return trip. We stayed at the State Park right on Lake Guntersville. The accommodations were nice, with the boat launch conveniently located within a mile.
One more unusual sight from Guntersville - a goose up there on the top of a fallen tree.
