If you're familiar with river fishing, you know that the level fluctuates constantly. In Wisconsin on the Mississippi river this year, we've basically had high water since ice off. The water is cresting right now as we post. A lot of local guys have been complaining that they can't go and fish because the water is too high, the current is too fast. To these guys, I simply say - cry me a river. Preferably one that's high.
You can't be scared of high water, fast currents, or mud. You simply need to put on your pants and fish like a man (or woman!). Get out there, explore new water, and find some fish. The fish won't always be there, but the water will be that high again and the fish will be back there again. If you don't like looking at weed lines and shorelines, try and find a good rock line. On a rock line the fish will simply move up and down with the water and still be in the same areas most of the time year round.
The biggest thing is that you're guaranteed to put zero fish in the boat if you're sitting at home whining about the water being too high.
