This year I was able to attend iCast. It was very an eye opening look into the fishing industry present and future. I was able to look at all the upcoming products for 2015, as well as brush elbows with pro bass anglers and talk directly to many bass fishing companies. There's too much to write about in one post so I'll just touch on the highlights.
I was able to meet with Power-Pole. While in their booth admiring their products and exchanging stories of how they help me on the water, I happened to mention an issue I've been having with my poles not responding to all the switches. They let me know that there was a software upgrade that dealt with the issue I've been experiencing, and they showed me how to do it. I downloaded the app that will bluetooth connect directly to my Power-Pole, and I'm excited to try it out when I get home.
I stopped at the Ardent booth and had a conversation with Denny Bower. We chitchatted about the Ardent fishing challenge TV show and the robustness of northern fisheries. It was pretty cool to meet Denny.

I also ran into Zell Rowland and we talked about Revel lures and the fun of throwing the Pop R. I stopped in the Halo rods booth and discussed in length the titanium series that's coming out at the end of 2014. I also shook hands and talked to Randal Tharp in the Halo booth.
Randy Howell was hanging out in the Road Runner Blade Baits booth. I congratulated him on the Classic win and we grabbed this picture.

Between Bill and I, we covered a lot of ground and have some new baits and other fishing products to try. We're excited to try out these baits and blog about them here. One of the one's I'm personally most excited about is Snag Proof, which is a weedless bait company. They reintroduced a new weedless spinner bait - they hooked me up with one to try and I'll be blogging about it soon.
