Brandon and I recently fished in the Iowa Bass Nation 10k, formerly Country on the River. The next day, we were back fishing the Spro Frog only tournament. Both of these tournaments were held on Mississippi River Pools 9, 10, and 11.
We fished unpressured slop and grass lines on both days. Both days, were were glad to bring in full bags. We fell short of placing in the cash at the 10k, but we took 6th place in the Spro Frog Only tournament. The Spro Frog only fell out of our grasp of a first place finish due to a few lost fish by the team. The Iowa Bass Nation put on two days of great tournaments that was well organized, had door prizes and a gift bag for the Spro Frog Only tournament.
Our largest bass of the weekend was a 3.5 lb largemouth boated by Brandon. One of the highlights of both days was locking through and having a shotgun style take off after the lock opened. The FX20 really burnt up the water and the competition up and down the river.
