Hi all - Katie here. I'm Josh's wife and the tech expertise behind Woobass. I don't fish much myself, but when your husband is as big as fishing fanatic as Josh is, you have to find ways to make fishing interesting sometimes. For example, when we were at iCast a couple weeks ago, while Josh was stopping a every last lure, rod, and reel company, I was stopping in and checking out all the sunglasses manufacturers. There were a lot of them represented, which I was surprised about - but really shouldn't have been; eye protection is pretty important when you're in the boat on a reflective body of water all day long. I'm kind of a sunglasses junky and had been meaning to upgrade my sunglasses for a while, so iCast was the perfect opportunity to check new styles out.
While there were a lot of great designs, the one I kept circling back to was Smith Optics. Initially I was just admiring the designs. The Smith Optics designs are the perfect combination of classic and innovative; not too trendy, but definitely not boring. But then I put a pair of on and BAM - it was a whole new world. While Josh was a little less interested in the aesthetics (what with all the lures, poles, and reels around), I immediately demanded that he put a pair on too. He's no stranger to polarized lens and has a couple of nice pairs already, so he kind of rolled his eyes but put a pair as I demanded. Even he was impressed! It's almost impossible to describe how much more clearly the ChromaPop lens make everything. There was a little screen at the display - when you didn't have the ChromaPop lens on, you could only see a quarter of the screen. But when put on the ChromaPop glasses - the whole thing was vivid. Amazing.
We were able to strike up a conversation with a rep from Smith Optics, and he hooked us up with a Pro-Staff deal. Considering I was already trying to place an order right there even without the discount (that's how the conversation got struck up, actually - I asked if I could buy the pair I was holding:)), we thought that this was pretty cool of them. We came home and after combing through the many choices over at Smith Optics, Josh finally landed on the black Tenet glasses with ChromaPop Polarized Blue Mirror and I picked out the Apple Tortoise Facet glasses with ChromaPop Polarized Brown.

The sunglasses came really quickly (around 3 or 4 business days from ordering), and we excitedly opened up the box.
The packaging was surprisingly nice and high end, to match the glasses inside. It definitely felt like we were unwrapping a present. Each pair came with it's own hard case. The hard case was really nice and I feel fully confident that my sunglasses will be protected.
When we opened it up, there were even more goodies.
Inside the case was a decal, microfiber cloth for cleaning, a soft case, information on the lifetime warranty, and the sunglasses!
We're both even more impressed with the sunglasses now that we have them. Josh just had a long fishing weekend and he wore his the entire time. He said that they're nice and lightweight, they don't collect heat as bad as his other pair used to wear, and of course the ChromaPop polarization is excellent. I myself am really impressed with the little details, like the padded bridge cushion that prevents the glasses from slipping all around. The inside of mine are color blocked green, and the style is perfectly designed to just get the barest hint of it. All in all, they were a great investment and we're still really excited to have them.
Now if I can only get these too...
